This is an epiphany I assume many parents reach during the phase of kids constantly asking “why” questions… But I wanted to recorded the moment 🙂
I started responding to the “why” questions with things like:
Why not?
How else would you want it to be?
Why do you think that is?
And the result was either an interesting conversation or an end to the questioning… Either of these are good outcomes imho
Good post. Sometime we haven’t the time or energy to explain but a moment of allowing the child to explain their question shows you are listening to them.
