@Vconnecting in Pictures – Visual Autoethnography on the Internet?

Estimated reading time: 0 minutes, 23 seconds

While working on my internet autoethnography section on Virtually Connecting, I opened up my slides from Challenging Academic Gatekeeping, where I was supposed to pick tweets to include in my blogpost… and I got derailed by the emotions evoked by some of the photos I used in those slides. So I decided to a VC in pictures slideshow, and post it on my blog publicly, open for commenting. Would be happy to hear from others how they react

  1. Oh wow I love this 💕👀@Bali_Maha what a fab set of piccies and what a brilliantly clever way to trigger off memories and reflect on meaning … love this so much 🤗

  2. Thank you so much for sharing here Maha. I have so many good friends in this community and I am every grateful for being included in this project.

  3. I live the picture of the three on-site buddies holding laptops with the images of the 3 virtual buddies :). Ancient Greece and Muses come to mind when I see that photo

  4. I ❤️ this slidedeck, Maha! it’s so evocative… reminding me of moments that I either experienced onsite or witnessed virtually, but all connect emotionally. I’m struck by all the *joy* in the photos 🙂 thanks for the memories & as @ken_bauer says, for all you do. @VConnecting

  5. One of my best VC memories too… I recall too us chatting as our laptop holders moved around. It shows what’s really possible when you don’t anticipate all of what’s possible

  6. I LOVED this post from @Ignatia ignatiawebs.blogspot.com/2015/05/try-ou… about @VConnecting and how even with Wifi trouble at @emoocssummit the conversation continued with @arasbozkurt showcasing his network graphs of the event hashtag on Twitter.

  7. As always Maha you get us re-thinking! A good reminder to keep re-visiting past experiences to share with others and sense check progress where we have pledged to take somthing forward.
