There Was Blood Everywhere…but all’s well that ends well

So I had a strange night last night. After the exhilarating ending to the conference where I took a risk to have some fun and got a great reception πŸ™‚ i got home and took my daughter out then after dinner i got the courage to give her the new injection while awake (first time i was so nervous i gave it to her while she was sleeping). As Rebecca said to me, since we’re stuck with this for life, might as well embrace it (or something like that). Fingers crossed.

Trying to get my daughter to sleep was another matter and at some point she started crying and I got up, carrying her to get her a drink then for some weird reason I tripped and fell and hee with me. I hit my head and knee and mouth and jaw (and she was in my arms so i wasn’t sure if i had shielded her well). I called her dad in to check on her (one of the benefits of having a doctor for a husband). He turned on the lights and…there was blood everywhere (thinking here of George CostanZa from Seinfeld) and we couldn’t figure out where it was coming from but it was all over us both.

This gets kinda funny because even though both my girl and I had lumps on our head from the fall, and i had a swollen lip, the blood was just coming from my chin! At first i thought it was just a zit that had burst but the blood kept flowing so much and this morning I discovered a long (like 1/3 of my chin length) line of blood across my chin. It’s no biggie of course but still, who would have thought there was soooo much blood that could come out of such a small unimportant wound? Bleh

Anyway so of course I kept my kid up a bit longer to make sure she calmed down and didn’t have concussion. Looks like we’re both ok.

And then just before I put her to bed i read an email with some wonderful news and…you guessed it… I couldn’t sleep! So I stayed up a bit (a lot?) and stuff πŸ™‚ a hint regarding the good news is in the title of this email and that’s all I am gonna say about that…for now πŸ™‚

Almost at work now…
