That’s a really good point (or set of points!) Kate…the in-betweenness or spectrum of belonging which…yeah..of course. We tend to not talk about that state v well. There’s also the time factor, when someone can be really “in” during a particular period but other times feel less “in” or even completely “out” because both people and communities are dynamic and change and interaction w the community itself and individuals within it change us. I have often officially left spaces of a community but remained engaged with members of it, for example. Thanks for this.
