Yes. It took me over well over 10 years get over the “got to learn this for the exam”. Sometimes I tormented my children with it, more often I just worried silently about it. I believe you have a personal responsibility to deal with this *on a personal level*. Doing this helps you realize what the schools are designed to do. When you know this, you can make better choices for your kids education and counsel them on making their own choices once they’re old enough.

Resist the urge to get your kids institutionalized as quickly as possible. Keep them out for as long as you can. Then, seek out places that give choices to kids, have robust social programs and reasonable assessment policies.
