If you have an office, even the way you situate your desk has social justice implications. Every small expression of power has with it justice implications whoever wields it. We all need power. That imperative carries with it ultimate responsibility for its use. That applies to all, but in relationships where there is unequal power (perceived or real) there is a particular duty of care. This awareness is part of our life’s work and a requirement of the teaching discipline.
