Good question. Why do you think? I should take more time to think about this…my prelim answer is that it’s a lot more work and effort and friction to be critical. And there is like, no END to how critical you can get and the dimensions of it. Which is why being with people different from yourself helps you see different worldviews. Because simply by being themselves they can help you question assumptions. but we need to engage in depth and listen REALLY hard, not just give ppl space/voice and assume that’s enough. And i say “give” intentionally because power dynamics mean some people have more opportunity to give this space. Like Mike Caulfield inviting me to #fedwikihappening for example…
