I asked some of those questions on Prof Hacker a while ago. Also re Kindle/iTunes stuff. Of course my parents vinyl records and even my own cassette tapes as a kid are now unplayable. But books. I have a book of my grandfather’s. Many of my father’s. Why is there no system for Kindle books to be passed on? But that’s a tangent (valuable but different point).
